Who I am and how I work

I grew up in Barcelona and have lived in London for over a decade. Living between cultures has shaped the way I understand identity, belonging, and the importance of being able to be yourself without having to explain or justify who you are.

That experience continues to influence how I connect with people in therapy, and it has deepened my belief that therapy should feel human, respectful, and grounded in safety.

Pedro Garcia, BACP-registered bilingual counsellor in London

I currently have some availability for new clients. You’re welcome to get in touch to ask questions or check options.

  • I believe therapy should feel human, honest, and real. A space where you feel met with warmth, respect, and care, not judgement or distance.

While I work gently and at your pace, I am also an active presence in the room. I may offer reflections, ask questions, share observations, and gently challenge patterns when it feels helpful. For me, therapy is a collaborative process where we think together about what is happening for you.

  • I have experience supporting people with trauma, anxiety, depression, ADHD, grief, low self-worth, identity questions, emotional overwhelm, and relationship difficulties.

I also have experience working with neurodivergent clients, and my work is LGBTQIA+ affirming.

Whether you are coming to therapy with something specific in mind or simply feel that something is not quite right, I offer a space to explore it with care and curiosity.cription

  • Alongside my private practice, I also work with NHS clients through IAPT services, and with charities supporting people who have experienced abuse, violence, and persecution.

My professional experience also includes supporting families affected by child sexual abuse and facilitating workshops around trauma and emotional wellbeing.

I have over 1000 hours of counselling experience supporting people from diverse backgrounds.

I am a registered member of the BACP and part of the Creative Counsellors network.

All of this has deepened my belief that therapy works best when people feel safe, respected, and able to bring themselves as they are.

  • I work with many clients who have felt different, misunderstood, or under pressure to adapt in order to belong. This includes LGBTQIA+ clients and neurodivergent clients, as well as people navigating identity, masking, shame, or the feeling of having to explain themselves too often.

My aim is to offer a space where you can bring more of yourself without feeling judged, reduced, or expected to fit a mould. Therapy can be a place to explore your experience with more honesty, self-understanding, and care.

  • I offer therapy in both English and Spanish. For some people, being able to speak in their first language can make it easier to express what they are feeling and connect more fully with their experience. Whether you feel more comfortable in English, Spanish, or moving between both, we can work in the language that feels right for you.

What you can expect from working together

Therapy can be a space to slow down and listen more closely to yourself. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected, or unsure why certain things keep affecting you so deeply, it can help to have somewhere to begin making sense of it all.

Here are some of the things therapy with me can offer.

  • Therapy with me is not about sitting in silence while you try to figure everything out on your own. I bring warmth, attention, and an active presence to the room. I may ask questions, offer reflections, share what I notice, and gently challenge patterns when it feels helpful.

At the same time, I will not rush you or push you somewhere you are not ready to go. We work together, at a pace that feels manageable, making space for honesty, reflection, and whatever feels important to you.

  • Sometimes the hardest part is not knowing exactly what is wrong, only that something feels heavy, confusing, or hard to hold on your own. Therapy can help you begin to put words to what you’re feeling, notice patterns more clearly, and make sense of experiences that may have felt tangled for a long time.

You do not need to arrive with everything figured out. We can start with whatever feels most present, whether that is anxiety, sadness, shame, emotional overwhelm, or simply the sense that something is not sitting right.

  • Over time, therapy can help you feel more connected to yourself and clearer about what you need. You may begin to understand your emotions differently, notice old patterns with more compassion, or feel more able to make choices that reflect who you are now.

Change does not usually happen all at once. Often it begins in quieter ways: feeling less alone with things, having more words for what is going on, or finding a little more room to breathe.

  • Reaching out for therapy can feel like a big step, especially if you are unsure where to start. You do not need to have everything figured out before getting in touch.

    • Get in touch: You can contact me through the form or book a free 20-minute introductory call.

    • We talk things through: We can speak about what is bringing you here, what kind of support you are looking for, and whether working together feels right.

    • We begin, if it feels like a good fit. If you decide you would like to go ahead, we can arrange your first session and take it from there.

Safe, Ethical, and Creative Therapy

I am a qualified counsellor and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), and I adhere strictly to its code of ethics to ensure our interactions are professional and safe for you. Beyond my core qualifications, I'm also part of the Creative Counsellors network.

Location & Fees

I offer counselling in London from therapy rooms in Greenwich (SE10) and London Bridge (SE1), as well as online sessions across the UK.

Many of my clients come from areas including Canary Wharf, Deptford, Bermondsey, Southwark and the wider London area.

How sessions can work

I offer online, in-person, and blended therapy, depending on what feels most supportive and practical for you.

Some clients prefer the flexibility and comfort of online sessions. Others value meeting face-to-face in the therapy room. Some choose a mix of both, depending on their routine, energy levels, or where they are based.

We can talk about what feels right for you when we first speak.

Where sessions
take place

In-person sessions take place in Greenwich (SE10) and London Bridge (SE1) in private therapy rooms designed to provide a calm and comfortable setting.

Both locations are well connected, and maps are included below to help you get a sense of their locations.

  • Diversity aware counselling incorporates cultural sensitivity into therapy, ensuring that cultural context and experiences are fully respected and understood within the counselling process. This connection allows for more effective communication and a deeper, more meaningful therapeutic experience.

It recognises the importance of race, gender, sexual orientation, culture, beliefs, values, attitudes, religion and language and considers external realities such as racism, sexism, and physical health, ensuring a holistic approach to your care.

Working within diversity opens the door to empowerment and navigating life’s complex roles. Whether you are dealing with personal challenges like trauma, seeking acceptance, or navigating complex relationships, my approach is supportive and culturally sensitive, helping you to explore these areas at your own pace.

  • Absolutely! As a multicultural counsellor, I embrace diversity and welcome clients from all walks of life. My practice is inclusive and provides a supportive environment for everyone.

  • Of course! I offer therapy sessions in English, Spanish, and Catalan. You are welcome to choose the language that feels more comfortable for you, ensuring your therapy experience is as supportive and effective as possible.

  • Every person’s experience in therapy is unique, influenced by their individual goals and commitment. You may learn to embrace your vulnerabilities, feel more empowered, gain a deeper understanding of yourself, face challenges constructively, or develop greater compassion for yourself and others. The outcomes would depend on your personal journey and what you hope to achieve through therapy.

  • Yes, I offer a free 20-minute consultation. This is an opportunity for us to learn a bit more about each other and for you to see if you feel comfortable working with me. Please note, this is an introductory conversation, not a counselling session.

  • The duration of therapy depends on your specific needs and circumstances. Initially, we will discuss a provisional timeline, which we can adjust as necessary. I offer:

    • Short-term counselling for specific issues, typically ranging from 3-15 sessions.

    • Long-term, open-ended therapy, for those who wish to explore deeper or long-standing challenges.

  • You can cancel or reschedule an appointment by giving at least 48 hours' notice. If you cancel with less than 48 hours' notice, you will be charged for the session.

  • Booking a session is simple! You can reach out through the 'Contact' section of the website with your availability. I aim to respond within 48 hours.

  • Preparing for your first therapy session can help you feel more confident and grounded. Here are a few tips to get started:

    1. Reflect on Your Goals: Think about what you hope to achieve through therapy. It can be helpful to write down a few goals or areas of concern you want to address. This doesn't have to be in-depth—a general idea can guide the initial conversations.

    2. Prepare Questions: If you have any questions about the therapy process, confidentiality, or my approach, write them down so you can ask during the session.

    3. Choose a Comfortable Setting: If your session is online, find a quiet, private space where you won’t be interrupted. Ensure your internet connection is stable to avoid technical issues.

    4. Mental Preparation: It’s completely normal to feel a bit nervous before your first session. Take some time to relax and calm your mind. Some deep breathing, meditation, or a walk can help settle any pre-session nerves.

    5. Be Open: Try to approach the session with openness. The more honest you can be about your feelings and experiences the more helpful therapy will be for you.
